Seared Tuna with Olive Oil and Balsamic Syrup
Ingredients:
8 oz tuna steak
1 tbsp olive oil
salt & pepper to taste
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar (heat in pan until reduced by ˝)
Herbed oil: 2 tbsp oil, ˝ tsp fresh chives finely chopped –
heat oil in pan and add chives; remove from heat
Preparation:
Rub tuna all over with oil and seasoning
Sear on a hot barbecue or medium-high pan on the stove, for about 1 - 2 minutes
Turn fish over and cook for another 1 - 2 minutes
Remove from heat and put on plate
Drizzle the oil, and reduced vinegar around the fish on the plate
Serves 1 or 2.
Great with: parsley potatoes, rice, peas
